Letter from the President
Invitation to Sea Cloud Voyage on June 21-July 4, 2013
Have you ever imagined yourself sailing the same waters that the Apostle Paul did or visiting the island of Patmos where the Apostle John penned the Book of Revelation? In your readings of the Book of Acts, have you wondered what the setting was like when the crowds of Ephesus chanted and demanded to see Paul and his traveling companions?
In a few short months, those questions – and many, many more could be answered with amazing clarity. Your readings about the seven churches of Revelation, along with many of Paul’s epistles, could be transformed.
The purpose of this letter is to invite you to prayerfully consider coming along for an extraordinary voyage aboard the Sea Cloud, a highly acclaimed sailing vessel that will traverse the Aegean Sea and deliver you to these and other destinations. From June 21- July 4, 2013, you’ll travel to Greece and Turkey to retrace the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul. Along the way, you will enjoy interludes of study at many familiar biblical sites, while spending quality time with your fellow like-minded travelers.
In addition, a world-renowned Bible teacher, Dr. Christopher J.H. Wright – the International Ministry Director of the Langham Partnership, will host you. Dr. Wright has written twenty books, including historic volumes such as The Mission of God, The God I Don’t Understand and The Mission of God’s People. He also headed the theological team that produced the Cape Town Commitments at the 2010 Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization. Wright’s insightful teaching will escort us through the ancient cities of Patmos, Ephesus, Smyrna, Sardis and Athens. His integrated grasp of the whole of Scripture and God’s redemptive work thru history is stunning – and captivating. You will be nourished and strengthened spiritually!
John Stott himself was invited in the early 1990s to serve as the vessel’s chaplain and Bible teacher. He treasured the memory of his time aboard the Sea Cloud. More than allowing him to appreciate the flora and fauna, especially the birds, of the Aegean, it helped bring the biblical narrative alive in a way that no book ever could. Then, with the intimate fellowship of shipmates, lifelong relationships were formed and deepened. We trust that the Lord will bless such a journey again, and we’d love to have you be a part of this!

In Christ’s service,
Benjamin K. Homan
P.S. As a thoughtful Christian and friend of the Langham Partnership, we hope you are able to come aboard for what is sure to be an unforgettable time of enjoyment and spiritual refreshment – among only 60 passengers – on an unforgettable New Testament Journey aboard the Sea Cloud.
