A Legacy of Joyful Generosity – 10 Reasons Why Donors Have Chosen to Include Langham in Their Will or Trust – in Their Own Words!

Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.  1 Chronicles 29:14

Christmas is a time for joyful celebration.  With the shepherds we hear the announcement of “Good news of Great Joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11).

  • Joy comes to those who receive God’s gracious gift of salvation in Christ.
  • Joy is also experienced as we give to others – whether family members, friends, strangers, our church, or ministries such as Langham Partnership.

Joyful Generosity

Did you know that including Langham Partnership in your legacy giving plans can be an expression of joy and lead to an experience of even greater joy? Since we launched The Cross of Christ Legacy Fellowship, I have been amazed at the way our ministry partners talk about their plans to invest in God’s global mission by leaving a legacy gift in their will or trust.

In addition to Joy, they use words like Happy, Glad, Thankful, Privileged, and Delight.  As you can see, there is great blessing in aligning our resources with God’s purposes!  But rather than just tell you about it, I invite you to listen in to these short testimonies about the Joy of Kingdom Generosity!

Why do people make a Legacy Gift to Langham Partnership? The following quotes come directly from Langham donors.  They have the joy of knowing that their “future gift” (likely the largest they will ever make) will equip numerous pastors and leaders to teach and preach God’s word and to strengthen the church throughout the majority world.

In Their Own Words:
Testimonies of Joyful Giving

A Blessing to be Shared“God’s blessing has to be shared and not stored up or kept for ourselves.  Since I know that Langham Partnership is furthering God’s Kingdom and helping our brothers and sisters around the world, I AM GLAD to support this ministry through my regular gifts and to include Langham in my will.”

Our God is a Missionary God“IT IS A JOY for me to be a part of legacy giving for Langham!  Of all the worthwhile nonprofits, this is at the top of my list because of the Kingdom goals Langham represents and how comprehensive the vision is. As John Stott said, “Our God is a missionary God.”

Strategic Ministry – ““WE ARE HAPPY to make a legacy gift to Langham Partnership because it is such a strategic ministry.  I can’t think of anything more strategic.  Through Langham the Lord is training and educating pastors who are investing in others for their maturity.”

Furthering the Kingdom of God“In considering how we might be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us, particularly beyond our time here on earth, it GIVES US GREAT CONFIDENCE to have decided to have a material part of our estate go to Langham for the purpose of furthering the Kingdom of God.”

Work with Great Integrity – “WE ARE HAPPY to make a legacy gift to Langham because Langham supports Christian thinking and teaching, two of the most strategic ministries in the world today.  Langham does this work with great integrity, so we trust them with this gift.”

Mindful of Christians in the Islamic World“WE ARE THANKFUL for Langham Partnership and are happy to include Langham in our legacy giving plans.  Langham is mindful of Christians in the Islamic world and publishes books that support Christians there.”

Carrying on John Stott’s Legacy“John Stott’s vision was new and exciting to me having never heard of anything like it. I’m proud to help carry on his legacy of helping the Word of God spread to so many different countries.  I FEEL PRIVILEGED to be a small part of this great ministry and encourage others to do the same.”

Money will go where I want it to go – “I’M GLAD to be able to give to Langham as a beneficiary of my 401(k). It ensures that the money will go where I want it to go without any extra steps for my executor.”

A Deep, Long-Term Investment – “WE LOVE what Langham does! Everything they do is a deep, long-term investment in the spiritual maturity of both their scholars/leaders and those they serve. A legacy gift will help continue to strengthen and grow the Church long after we’re gone.”

Blessed to be a Blessing – “We find great JOY in supporting Langham Partnership both during our lifetime and through our Trust by way of a legacy gift. We are ‘blessed to be a blessing’ for kingdom work and have found Langham a worthy partner.”

Helping Someone Hear the Gospel – “We DELIGHT in being a small part of making this faithful God and His word known among the nations!  Giving to Langham Partnership now and in our will helps SOMEONE we will most likely never meet hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ!”
