Four reasons why donors include Langham Partnership in their will

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give… for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Did you know that every month people like you are finding great joy and satisfaction not only in giving right now but also in making plans for a future gift in their will or trust?

Why do Langham donors choose to include the ministry in their future plans? There are so many reasons, and I thought you would be encouraged to read about four I regularly hear from Langham friends all around the country.

Why are people choosing to include Langham in their will?

In one word: love.

1. Love for our Lord

Giving generously is an act of worship and an expression of our love for the Lord. When we give to the Lord’s work around the world, we express our love for Christ in a very tangible way. And when we plan to give to the Lord’s work in our will or trust, we are aligning our final plans for our resources with our hearts for the Lord.

2. Love for family members

Making wise choices in our will or estate can be a great way to love our family members. Of course, this includes planning to provide for our spouse, our children or other loved ones. But including Langham in your plans can also be an expression of love for family members. Our will (sometimes called a “testament”) provides an opportunity to testify to family members and friends. Including God’s kingdom purposes in our plans can be a great example for others who will, by God’s grace, be encouraged to live generously and seek first his kingdom.

3. Love for God’s Word

Around the world, Langham scholars, authors and preaching trainers are helping God’s people understand and live by his life-giving Word. More and more, we here in the U.S. are benefitting from hearing the Word proclaimed by our brothers and sisters from the Majority World. (Listen and learn from these leaders here.) Including Langham in your estate plans is a powerful way to express your love for the Lord’s Word.

“It is my heart’s desire and prayer that these ministries will continue long after my death, under God’s blessing and provision and with the prayerful and generous support of God’s people.”

John Stott

4. Love for God’s People

Since our founding by John Stott, Langham Partnership has been committed to seeing the global church grow, not only in size but also in depth and maturity, as “uncle John” said. We are wonderfully bound together with the Lord’s people from every language and nation and tribe. Many Langham donors have found that including Langham in their will or trust is a beautiful way to express their love for and partnership with the people of God around the world.
